These designers & co-creators made the experience and the exhibits
for Hawaiʻi Wildlife Discovery Center come alive!

Design Asylum created the exhibit boards and so much more for HWDC.

Lowell Gillia and his team at Design Asylum are equipped with over 24 years of experience in brand strategy, visual identity, environment experiences and web engagement. They work with clients to create brands that tell a story, connect to audiences and build relationships. How can we help tell your story?

Immersive Experience Made Possible By The Will Smith Foundation!

We Are More installed the projectors and sound systems in HWDC.

“We are not a company that does the bare minimum. We are the exact opposite. We Are More for ourselves, our families, friends, communities, clients, products and our services.”

– Ola Shaw, Owner

Inflatable Film created the film for the Immersion Room at HWDC. They are a global full-service film and video production company based in Kula, Maui and owned by Leah Warshawski and Todd Soliday.

The 15′ slide show at HWDC was co-created by University of Hawaii Hilo Mega Lab, We Are More & Lowell Gillia.

In our work, we go beyond what is expected.

We’re more than just exhibit designers. We focus on our projects as whole systems – and believe in change as the ultimate outcome. We strive to impact how your customers see and experience your organization, themselves, and the world.

iHave4Kings printed many of the displays for HWDC.

Eric King, owner of iHave4Kings, has brought a very unique printing technology to the island of Maui. With our large format flatbed UV printer we can print directly onto any flat surface. If you need aluminum, acrylic, wood, glass, fabric or just about any other flat surface printed, there’s only one place on Maui to get it done.

Iokepa Naeʻole is the Cultural Advisor for HWDC. Iokepa is a Hawaiian Language Immersion and Nature Conservancy educator, Ocean Guide and Cultural Specialist.

Born and raised in Kahului, Maui, Nae’ole began exploring Maui’s North Shore at a young age, learning how to swim, dive, surf, fish and paddle outrigger canoes. He also participated as a member of the Hawaiʻi State Champion Hawaiian Canoe Club.

He has a strong commitment to the preservation of Hawaiian culture and is the manager of Hale Huakaʻi at Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel.

With every stroke of the paintbrush, Patrick Ching brings his deep rooted love for the Hawaiian Islands to life. Capturing the colors and sights of the island’s desirable atmosphere comes naturally to the Oahu born artist.

Known as Hawaiʻi’s Premiere Nature Artist, Ching advanced his talents after art college by working “in the field” for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where he spent a good part of his life exploring remote areas of the islands, intimately learning the creatures and places that inspire his work.

Patrick was commissioned to paint the murals for the outside and interior of HWDC. We are honored to have Patrick’s incredible work as part of the Discovery Center!
